Although Mar Vista can be a low-key and relaxing neighborhood, residents have a plethora of happenings to partake in – especially with the almost-year-round perfect weather–making outdoor activities that much more desirable. Mar Vista residents are known to adore the weekly Mar Vista Farmers Market, which many consider to be one of the best in Los Angeles. The market, each Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Grand View Blvd and Venice Blvd, features fresh produce, specialty goods, live performances, dog sitting services, and even a free kids craft workshop, fun for all ages.

Mar Vista Recreation Center, is a large, popular community center and park filled with athletic spaces for tennis, roller hockey, soccer, baseball and more. There are also jogging trails, playgrounds, barbeque pits and picnic tables, perfect for weekly family outings. The Mar Vista Art Walk is a free community event supporting local artists; Bowlero is the place to be to enjoy bowling, food, arcade games, cocktails — or all of the above; the one-of-a-kind finds at local boutiques on Venice Blvd will lure you back for more, and of course there’s the easy drive to the ocean and beaches of Venice and Santa Monica.
